BBC America Renews ‘Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan’

BBC America has reupped Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan.

The travel-adventure effort, produced by Cream Productions and Wildfire Television, is among the first of a growing roster of original programming for the cable network. Actor Dominic Monaghan headlines the unscripted series, visiting different exotic locales in search of bizarre animals.

“The first season of Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan was an amazing thrill ride that introduced viewers to fascinating rare creatures and exotic locales, and we can’t wait to set off on new journeys with Dominic," said BBC America gm Perry Simon. "His vast knowledge of these animals and infectious enthusiasm make him the perfect host for this signature BBC America adventure series."

Premiering on the network in January, Wild Things earned a Critics Choice nomination for best reality series. The next batch of episodes will bow in 2014.

“I’m excited to travel the world and continue to tell stories about the rare and beautiful animals we share this planet with on season two of Wild Things,” added Monaghan. “Thanks to all the fans and to BBC America for all their support on a project that means so much to me.”
