VIDEOKree Harrison gave it her all on Wednesday’s “American Idol” performance finale, and the judges were quite pleased.
The finalist performed three songs — “Angel” (Simon Fuller’s choice), “All Cried Out” (coronation single), and “Up to the Mountain” (contestant’s reprise choice).
She received standing ovations from everyone but Nicki Minaj for the single, but the rapper joined the rest of the panel in standing up for “Up to the Mountain.”
“Oh come on! That was beautiful, Kree,” Keith Urban told her, adding, “It’s the spirituality and the soulfulness you tap into. It’s your story. It’s all connected.”
Minaj said, “I’m so glad you did that one… That energy is so uplifting. I loved it even more than the single performance because it felt so rich.”
And Randy Jackson called it a “winning performance,” and her “best” of the night.”
“I agree with Randy,” noted Mariah Carey, “You have something special Kree…. It’s going to be very, very difficult for America tonight.”
