A week ahead of its upfront presentation to Madison Avenue buyers, the CW has ordered four additional pilots to series -- including three sci-fi vehicles -- as the younger-skewing network continues to stay largely on brand.
Joining the previously ordered The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals on the network's 2013-14 schedule a remake of The Tomorrow People, which marks the third show from TVD co-creator Julie Plec and second vehicle from Arrow's Greg Berlanti. In addition, futuristic entry The 100, which picked up steam in recent days, has also been given the green light along with similarly themed Star-Crossed (previously known as Oxygen).
The series join previously renewed Arrow, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast at the network. Still to be determined are the fates of freshman The Carrie Diaries and veteran Nikita.
