‘Teen Wolf’ Season 3 Trailer Debuts: Alphas Invade Beacon Hills (Video)

Spoilers ahead.

Teen Wolf is back: bigger and badder than ever.

MTV’s hit drama returns this summer for its third season, bringing a whole new cast of characters along with it. Picking up four months after the event of season two’s shocking finale – in which Jackson was transformed into a werewolf and Peter Hale was resurrected from the grave – the season three premiere finds Scott McCall, Stiles, Lydia and Allison beginning their junior year of high school, blissfully unaware of the dangers lurking right around the corner.

As promised last season, the new Alpha Pack arrives in Beacon Hills, bringing a whole new batch of potential villains into the fray.

Among the new faces are Ethan and Aiden as twin Alpha werewolves and played by Charlie and Max Carver; Gideon Emery as Deucalion, leader of the Alpha werewolves; Kali, an Alpha werewolf played by Felisha Terrell; Brian Patrick Wade as Ennis, an Alpha werewolf who is a force of pure brutality; and Cora, a tough 17-year-old, who has ties to the Beacon Hills werewolf line, played by Adelaide Kane. This season will also mark the return of series stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Dylan O'Brien as Stiles, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale and Holland Roden as Lydia Martin. Colton Haynes, who played Jackson Whittemore, does not return – but his storyline is left open-ended for the time being.

“A lot of the werewolves this season aren’t necessarily bad,” Roden tells The Hollywood Reporter. “There are more than just Scott the good werewolf.”

But don’t expect the lines to be clearly drawn.

“It’s interesting who you can trust with all these new characters,” Roden teases. “It’s hard to tell sometimes. You go back and forth debating, ‘Do I like this person? Do I not like this person?’”

And if this trailer tells us anything, season three will be darker than ever before.

If you need a Teen Wolf refresher, or if you missed an episode or two last season, MTV will be airing season two in its entirety on Monday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., just in time for the season three premiere. The series is also available in full on MTV.com and Netflix streaming, among other outlets. The official season two DVD (featuring bonus footage galore) will hit shelves May 21.

What do you think of the new Teen Wolf trailer? Will you be watching June 3?
