After getting bounced around the schedule since its October premiere, the third season of Happy Endings comes to a close with another round of back-to-back episodes on Friday night.
And while ratings for the ABC comedy have predictably suffered in the unwelcoming time slot -- it remains as funny as ever, as the below exclusive clip illustrates.

Ahead of the high stakes wedding-themed finale at 8:30 p.m., Happy Endings keeps things a bit lighter in the first offering: "Deuce Babylove 2: Electric Babydeuce." (And no, there wasn't a first "Deuce Babylove.") The episode, which sees the return of Megan Mullally and Michael McKean, finds Brad (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Jane (Eliza Coupe) trying to get some distance from the group by joining an exclusive tennis club. This does not set well with Max (Adam Pally) or Alex (Elisha Cuthbert).
The most pressing matter for Happy Endings, however, is if tonight's episodes will be the underdog's last. The shuffle to Friday has not boded particularly well for a future on ABC -- and while its future there is still undecided, producer Sony TV has been pitching a fourth season of the show to cable networks, most notably USA.

Still, showrunners David Caspe and Jonathan Groff say the finale will be similar to the past two seasons in offering a combination of resolution to the season's bigger arcs and setup for its potential return.
"My thought is that we have to act as if we're coming back, of course, but also every season ends in a way that ideally is pretty satisfying," creator and ep Caspe recently told The Hollywood Reporter. "It has some closure, so I think that if that had to suffice, it would have to suffice."
"It's the finale we were always going to do, and I think certainly sets us up for a next year if we do get to do more," added Groff. "Our goal always in these finales is to pull together some storylines we've been following off and on for the season, have a nice good feeling about our characters and to have it be funny and memorable. I'm optimistic that we've pulled it off in this year's finale."
