Heather Morris may have bid Glee farewell during Thursday's fourth season finale.
The dancer-turned-actress, who first joined the Fox musical during season one as a background player, currently does not have a deal to return to Glee, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Sources tell THR that the actress, whose pregnancy was announced in April, could potentially return for a fifth season either as a regular or recurring guest star. The latter route would parallel how the dramedy handled the graduation of its core cast following season three -- with actors including Dianna Agron (Quinn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Mark Salling (Puck) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike), among others, appearing infrequently after their characters' high school careers ended.

During Thursday's episode -- titled "All or Nothing" -- Morris' dingbat character, Brittany, is granted early admission to MIT. Following a meeting with the university's admissions department, Brittany returns to the show's Ohio-set McKinley High and, after attempting to demand all the solos at Regionals, winds up performing with the glee club and bidding her classmates adieu.
The episode marked a fitting farewell to one of Glee's breakout stars who was first recruited by Glee choreographer Zach Woodlee to teach the cast Beyonce's "Single Ladies" routine. She ultimately landed the role of a background cheerleader but after Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk discovered her penchant for one-liners, her scene-stealing screen time was gradually increased and Morris shot to fame thanks in large part to Brittany's lesbian relationship with Naya Rivera's Santana, another fan favorite.

Glee's fourth season marked its first as the series split its story lines between a New York-set location featuring Lea Michele (Rachel), Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Rivera and McKinley High, where Glee added a throng of recurring players including Jacob Artist (Jake), Melissa Benoist (Marley), The Glee Project season two winner Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Becca Tobin (Kitty). The latter four are expected to return for Glee's recently announced fifth season as the fourth-season school year continues when the series picks up in its likely September return.
Representatives for Glee producer 20th Television declined comment and Fox officials did not respond to THR's requests.
