TV Ratings: ‘American Idol,’ ‘Nashville’ and ‘CSI’ Inch Upwards

Averaging a 3.2 rating with adults 18-49 on Wednesday night, American Idol bucked its recent trend of performance show dips. The Fox series was up a tenth of a point from last week's final and up two tenths from the Fast National. With 11.99 million viewers over the two-hour broadcast, it was also up a tick in viewers.

Survivor (2.4 adults), down a tenth of a point from last week, tied a series low on CBS. Criminal Minds (3.0 adults) rose two tenths of a point at 9 p.m., while CSI (2.4 adults) was up by three tenths. CBS averaged a 2.6 rating in the key demo and 10.5 million viewers.

ABC kicked off the night with a steady episode of The Middle (2.0 adults). Suburgatory (1.7 adults) was down a tenth of a point, and Modern Family (3.8 adults) dropped by four tenths. In its second outing, How to Live With Your Parents (2.5 adults) fell four tenths of a point from last week's solid 2.9-rated premiere. Nashville (1.8 adults) was up again, rising a tenth of a point. The network pulled a 2.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 7.1 million viewers for the night.

Dateline (1.2 adults) fell two tenths of a point from last week's Wednesday debut on NBC. The rest of the night was in encores, giving NBC an average 1.0 adults rating and 4.1 million viewers.

Encores of Arrow and Supernatural netted a 0.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 1.4 million viewers for the CW.

And Univision averaged a 1.6 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers.
