Mystery Girls (working title) revolves around two actresses who previously starred on a popular detective series who now use their acting experience in order to solve crimes. The single-camera comedy (which may change to multicam) is being executive produced by Spelling and Maggie Malina, who also produced Mistle-Tones. A search is under way to find a writer for the project.
The comedy marks Spelling's latest foray into TV after served as host and executive producer on TLC's Craft Wars. Spelling is repped by ICM Partners and Jackoway Tyerman.
Additionally, ABC Family is also developing Katie & Becca Grow Up, a multicamera comedy from writer/EP Leila Cohan-Miccio (Vag Magazine) about two best girlfriends who are forced on a journey to find adulthood that's led by their former loser friend who now has it all together.
