There was a glaring absence at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards: Jennifer Lawrence.
The Oscar winner was nominated for several honors, including Best Female Performance for Silver Linings Playbook, but didn’t join co-star Bradley Cooper at the ceremony.
Lawrence ended up winning in the performance category, as well as Best Kiss, which Cooper accepted solo.
Liam Hemsworth was also alone to present the first teaser trailer for their film Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games (video below).

But despite reports that Lawrence bailed on the show at the last minute — allegedly leaving producers scrambling and killing a planned sketch with host Rebel Wilson — Gossip Cop hears that the actress was NEVER confirmed to attend in the first place.
In fact, we’ve learned that a scheduling conflict kept Lawrence from committing to the show, and any reports suggesting she was expected to participate in material for the event are simply not true.
