‘Revolution’ Adds ‘Cult’s’ Rockne S. O’Bannon for Season 2 (Exclusive)

Fresh off its second-season renewal, NBC's Revolution is adding some muscle to the writers' room.

Cult creator and Defiance writer Rockne S. O'Bannon has joined the Warner Bros. Television-produced drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

O'Bannon will serve as an executive producer and a No. 2 to showrunner Eric Kripke on the drama from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot banner. He's expected to play a heavy role in the second season of the drama. Revolution has become a valuable property for NBC, ranking as the network's top scripted drama across all of primetime.

O'Bannon created the CW's short-lived freshman entry Cult -- a passion project for the veteran sci-fi producer who first developed the project during the 2005-06 season for the former WB Network. His credits also include Syfy's Defiance, ABC's V reboot and Farscape.

In addition, Revolution has also added Trey Callaway (CSI: NY) to its staff as a co-executive producer for season two.

O'Bannon is repped by WME and Jackoway Tyerman; Callaway is with ICM Partners and Jackoway Tyerman.
