Mark Wahlberg weighed in on the Boston Marathon bombings at the Los Angeles premiere of Pain and Gain on Monday night, saying he immediately felt “compelled to run home” when he heard of the attack.

The Dorchester native offered, “I just really appreciate how the entire country, all the cities across the country, the entire world has really rallied around Boston and all the thoughts and the prayers are going to start the healing.”

Wahlberg said, “Boston is a very special place, and I wouldn’t be the man I am today if I wasn’t raised in Boston.”
