‘Glee’ Recap: Ryder and Kitty Bond as Santana Zeroes in on Her Future

[Warning: This story contains spoilers from Thursday's "Lights Out" episode of Glee.]

Two episodes remain in Glee's fourth season, and as the march toward Regionals ramps up, New Directions took advantage of a power outage to grow closer to their teammates as Ryder and Kitty both shared dark secret from their past.

Meanwhile, in New York, Rachel, Kurt and Isabella attempt to help Santana find some direction in her life instead of working as a cage dancer/bouncer at a local lesbian bar.

Here are the five reveals from the episode.

1. Santana needs to get serious about her future. Inspired after working for Isabella at a ballet benefit, Santana enrolls in a NYADA extension ballet class. "I'm an artist, but I've lost touch with that part of myself lately so I'm here to do some reintroducing," she tells her instructor. She recalls her abuela enrolling her in a ballet class, where the young tomboy felt safe, not different, and part of something beautiful.

2. New Directions get back to basics and learn to utilize their own tools -- household items for instruments, performing a capella -- as they use the power outage to really enforce their camaraderie. It works as "The Longest Time" and "We Will Rock You" are lovely team efforts.

3. Utilizing the power outage as an opportunity to reveal himself, Ryder shares that he was molested by a 17-year-old girl when he was 11. After Sam and Artie (insultingly) question why he doesn't see that as a guy's dream come true Kitty later opens up to Ryder that she, too, was molested by a friend's older brother and forced to change schools after the boy's parents dismissed her claims. [While the story line was not central to the episode, a PSA for RAINN followed the episode, a nice touch after Glee has addressed countless other issues this season.]

4. Sue Sylvester has found her next gig: a Trainer at 23-Hour Fitness. After Blaine urges her to come clean about her role in the school shooting, she tells Becky that she's never been happier -- except we don't buy it for a minute. Becky, meanwhile, is being tormented by Coach Roz Washington, whom she finds to be a poor replacement for Sue. She ultimately lands in the principal's office with a confession to make. Here's hoping this story line is wrapped up soon.

5. Ryder is still being Catfished. Realizing that what ever is going on with "Katie" is helping him find himself as a man and performer, he sadly rejects Kitty's advances. While it's our guess that the one on the other end of the line is Unique, we're actually now rooting for Kitty to wind up with Ryder after seeing the snarky Cheerio drop her guard with the guy who has a hard time trusting women.
