Katey Sagal and Kevin McHale
Glee has cast another one of its core cast member's parents.
Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal has joined the Fox musical, series co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed.
The showrunner took to his Twitter feed to announced that the actress would be joining the show's fourth season to play Artie's (Kevin McHale) mother.

"So thrilled to announce my friend Katey Sagal is playing Artie's mom on Glee! There is nothing this woman can't do!" he wrote late Thursday.
The casting marks a wish fulfillment for McHale, who said last summer at Comic-Con that he envisioned the Married … With Children and Futurama star to fill the role -- with Glee co-creator Ian Brennan already having story ideas.
"I want her to be a hoarder," Brennan said at the time.
While Artie's father has yet to be cast -- and there's no indication that both of the wheelchair-bound character's parents will appear -- McHale already has that role cast as well, envisioning Harry Connick Jr. in the role.

Details on how many episodes and when Sagal would appear were unclear; Fox and studio 20th Television did not immediately respond to The Hollywood Reporter's request for comment.
McHale, meanwhile, responded to the news on Twitter with an enthusiastic "Wooo!"
For Sagal, the casting keeps her in the 20th TV family as the studio also produces FX's Sons of Anarchy. She's repped by WME and B and B Management.
Sagal becomes Glee's latest high-profile guest star to play a family member. Gloria Estefan plays Naya Rivera's (Santana) mother; Idina Menzel will return as mother to Lea Michele's Rachel with Jeff Goldblum and Brian Stokes Mitchell as her gay fathers; Carol Burnett guested as Sue's (Jane Lynch) mom; Victor Garber is Will's (Matthew Morrison) dad; Aisha Tyler stepped in as Jake's (Jacob Artist) mother; and Matt Bomer has played Blaine's (Darren Criss) big brother, among others.
Glee returns with all-new episodes at 9 p.m. April 11 on Fox.
