Brody Stevens
Comedy Central is getting into the "dramatic comedy" business, ordering 12 episodes of Brody Stevens: Enjoy It, from executive producer Zach Galifianakis.
The cable network on Monday announced it has acquired the six-episode HBO Digital series, stretching the previously streamed installments into half-hour airings and producing another six of the former documentary-style series.

Brody Stevens: Enjoy It marks Comedy Central's first ever dramatic comedy series and centers on what Galifianakis dubs "the most fearless guy around" as the documentary series follows Brody Stevens' emotional rollercoaster life of a stand-up comic after the comedian's very public mental breakdown.
After spending time in the UCLA psych ward, Stevens is back on his meds and attempting to revive his stand-up film career as he makes the rounds in L.A. with Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim in tow. Enjoy It is a mix of live stand-up, documentary footage and animation.

The series is executive produced by Stevens, Galifianakis, Mike Gibbons, Generate's Dave Rath and Funny Or Die, with Dean Fleisher-Camp on board to direct the series, which will bow in the summer. Comedy Central's Jim Sharp and Ian Friedman will oversee for Comedy Central.
"Brody may be fearless, but we are terrified … in a good way," Comedy Central president Kent Alterman said.
Added Stevens: "I'm as excited as I can be while on 300 milligrams of Lamictal."
For Comedy Central, the Enjoy It order comes mere days after the Viacom-owned cabler doubled down on Workaholics star Adam Devine with Adam Devine's House Party, an eight-episode mix of stand-up and narrative sketches featuring 24 of his favorite up-and-coming comedians as it continues to bulk up on original fare.
