“Cruel Anne: My Dog Isn’t Cool Enough,” reads phenomenally dumb headline from Star about Anne Hathaway.
According to the mag, the actress “wants to replace her faithful Labrador, Esmeralda, because the pup isn’t hip enough for Hollywood!”
We’re not making this up.
A made up “source” for the tab says, “Anne really wants a ‘stylish young puppy’ she can play and interact with,” alleging, “She says she just can’t bond with a dog that’s half dead.”
Now that’s just cruel.
Anyway, the fake “insider” adds, “It’s not quite the glamorous look she’s going for now that she’s won an Oscar.”
“It just shows how out of touch Anne is getting,” notes the “source,” who claims, “Friends think it’s horrifically sad and worry that her obsession with her image is taking over everything — even her humanity.”
And Gossip Cop worries about the “reporter” who wrote this pathetic shaggy dog story.
For starters, a dog is not an accessory — it’s a living thing, and Hathaway loves Esmeralda like family.
And the movie star lives in New York — not Hollywood — and could care less about whatever small dog trend Paris Hilton or whomever is following these days.
Regardless, a rep for Hathaway calls the tab’s report completely FALSE.
Once again, Star is barking up the wrong tree.
