TV Ratings: ‘Red Widow’ Gets a Lonely Launch, ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Tumbles in Return

With most of its series up double-digits from the most recent originals, CBS topped Wednesday in total viewers (9.8 million) and tied Fox for a victory among adults 18-49 (1.8 rating). 60 Minutes (1.7 adults) started the night up four tenths of a point from two weeks ago, while The Amazing Race (2.4 adults) jumped half of a point from its Oscar-deflated premiere. The Good Wife (1.6 adults) rebounded three tenths of a point from its last original, while The Mentalist (1.5 adults) was off by a tenth of a point.

Sharing CBS' 1.8 adults rating and averaging 3.8 million viewers, Fox aired two episodes of The Cleveland Show at 7:30 p.m. (1.5 adults) and 8:30 p.m. (1.9 adults), up a respective four tenths and one tenth of a point from the last originals in those half-hours. The Simpsons (2.3 adults) rose three tenths of a point, and at 9:30 Bob's Burgers (1.7 adults) was off two tenths of a point from American Dad's most recent showing in the slot. Family Guy was an encore.

Once Upon a Time (2.1 adults) dropped three tenths of a point to a series low before Red Widow (1.4 adults) made a very soft debut in its two-hour premiere. The drama was off eight tenths of a point from last year's midseason debut (GCB) and lost steam in its second hour. ABC averaged a 1.6 adults rating and 6.9 million viewers.

Encores of Betty White's Off Their Rockers led into a dipping Dateline (1.3 adults), down two tenths of a point from its last Sunday outing. At 9 p.m., the latest cycle of Celebrity Apprentice (1.6 adults) dropped a full point from last winter's launch. On the upside, it did grow a tenth of a point (from a 1.6 to a 1.7) in its second hour, topping 10 p.m. NBC averaged a 1.3 adults rating and 4.9 million viewers.

Univision averaged a 0.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers.
