TV Ratings: ‘Glee’ and ‘Community’ See Big Boosts on Thursday Night

American Idol, which ran roughly two minutes late, brought in a 3.5 rating with adults 18-49 and 12.9 million viewers during its 90-minute outing. The Fast National returns have it down three tenths of a point from last week, but adjustments should see it rise in the finals. Glee (2.5 adults), likely boosted by Idol overrun, was still up a whopping 47 percent (eight tenths of a point) from its last original. Extending programming to 10:30 p.m. gave Fox a nightly win for the demo (3.1 adults) and a second place finish in total viewers (10.6 million).

Person of Interest (2.8 adults) was off by a tenth of point, leading into an Elementary encore. CBS averaged a 3.0 adults rating and 12.9 million viewers.

ABC made a solid move by moving a Shark Tank repeat into the 8 p.m. hour. The show was up two tenths of a point, to a 1.2 adults rating, from the final Zero Hour. Other encores gave the network an average 1.1 adults rating and 3 million viewers.

Community (1.5 adults) saw nice boost on NBC, rising three tenths of a point from its last original. The rest of the lineup was in encores, with the exception of an even 1600 Penn (0.9 adults) at 9:30 p.m. NBC averaged a 1.1 adults rating and 3 million viewers.

Encores gave the CW a 0.3 adults rating and 906,000 viewers.
