An even Last Man Standing (1.5 adults) kicked off the night on ABC, followed by a one-tenth dip for Malibu Country (1.3 adults). At 9 p.m., Shark Tank (2.0 adults) was up by a tenth to easily scored the night's top performance in the key demo. 20/20 (1.6 adults) was up by two tenths, giving ABC an average 1.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers.

Undercover Boss (1.4 adults) was off a tenth of a point before Golden Boy (1.0 adults) made its soft and lone foray to Friday. The series was supposed to make a home in the slot, but CBS recently announced the hour as the new home for freshman Vegas. NBC's new midseason Friday brought the second season of Fashion Star (0.8 adults), which was down eight tenths of a point from last year's series opener (1.6 adults). (Previous neighbor Biggest Loser did give the show lead-in.) Rock Center With Brian Williams (0.9 adults) was off a tenth of a point from last week, giving the network an average 1.1 adults rating and 3.98 million viewers for the night.

Kitchen Nightmares (1.3 adults) was up two tenths of a point on Fox, but it did not boost Touch (0.7 adults). The drama was down a tenth of a point to tie its recent low. Fox averaged a 1.0 rating with adults 18-49 and 2.99 million viewers.

Nikita (0.4 adults), even with its last original, led into a time slot debut for freshman drama Cult (0.2). The series lost a tenth of point of its already modest take, giving the network an average 0.3 adults rating and 1.1 million viewers for the night.
