TNT is looking to bring Claire DeWitt to the small screen.
The Turner-owned network is developing a scripted drama based on novelist Sara Gran's book series about the tough female private investigator in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Gran is attached to write and co-executive produce the hourlong drama script, with John Wells, Andrew Stearn and Christopher Chulack on board as executive producers. If ultimately ordered to pilot, Chulack will serve as DeWitt's director.

The move expands the producers' relationship with TNT, where they have spent recent years in production on the network's Southland. The cop drama, which got its start on NBC before shifting to cable, is in its fifth season. DeWitt is being produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television.
As The Hollywood Reporter previously reported, Gran also is developing Nutshell Studies, a Hitchcockian drama about a 1950s small-town housewife who becomes obsessed with solving brutal crimes, at HBO. Guillermo Del Toro will serve as an executive producer as well as director on that project, with Gran attached to write and co-executive produce.
Gran is repped by RWSG Agency, The Karpfinger Agency and Hirsch Wallerstein; Wells and his John Wells Productions president Stearn are repped by CAA; Chulack is repped by UTA and Ken Gross Management.
