Phillip Phillips, the reigning “American Idol,” returned to the show Thursday night for the first time since winning the competition last year.
The singer performed “Gone Gone Gone,” and was surprised with a plaque by Randy Jackson for his debut single, “Home,” going quadruple platinum.
