Miley Cyrus SLAMS False Nick Jonas Date Rumor After HollywoodLife Spreads Story

(HollywoodLife)

HollywoodLife just got caught spreading another completely false rumor — this time about Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas.

On Tuesday, the webloid claimed the exes had been “spotted” together at a restaurant in California, speculating that it could be a signal of trouble between Cyrus and her fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

Of course, Jay Penske’s sensationalistic blog doesn’t tend to have any good sources, which is why the entire report was based on a random fan tweeting that she’d seen the duo together.

HollywoodLife never bothered to check out the sighting to make sure it was legit.

But the webloid wasn’t satisfied simply manufacturing one bogus Cyrus-Jonas rumor.

On Wednesday, HollywoodLife posted a second story promising exclusive “details” about the pair’s alleged “diner lunch date.”

This time, the shameless site quoted a “source close to the situation” as saying that Cyrus and Jonas’ supposed face-to-face had a “serious tone, based on their demeanor.”

“They seemed to be having a business meeting — they were on their phones and then they left without incident,” added HollywoodLife’s “source.”

Fascinating.

Oh, but here’s the thing: NONE OF THIS EVER, EVER HAPPENED.

HollywoodLife — or its “source” — made up the whole thing.

Cyrus herself addressed the phony story on Twitter on Wednesday, embarrassing HollywoodLife and other reckless outlets that repeated the fake report.

I literally haven’t seen Nick Jonas in years. Don’t believe everything you read folks,” wrote Cyrus.

She continued, “Why are magazines allowed to publish straight bull sh*t. Look at my profile pic. Look at my finger. Idiots. I couldn’t have “ran” into anyone because I haven’t went to eat out in public in weeks because of the amount of paparazzi outside my house. #shorthairrapunzel.”

There you have it.
