American Idol alum Siobhan Magnus’ Kickstarter campaign to raise $20,000 for her new band, Doubtful Guest, reached its goal this week, she announced on Youtube.
With just 21 more hours to go before it closes on March 24, the campaign has raised $23,095 for expenses needed to stage a showcase at March 27 at 12th & Porter in Nashville.
STORY: 'American Idol' Alum Siobhan Magnus Launches Kickstarter Campaign for '90s Supergroup
The ‘90s supergroup -- which includes bandmates Tony Fredianelli (Third Eye Blind), Sammy Hudson (Everclear), Peter Klett (Candlebox), and Tommy Stewart (Godsmack) -- said that funds would cover equipment rentals, travel and rehearsal costs for the band, which already cultivated a monster list of songs from Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and others to perform.
The group is also trying to offset costs for an appearance at the New England Music Awards on April 13.
To thank fans, the season 9 Idol rocker has released a "Thank You” video on YouTube.
“Thank you so much for all your support to help us reach our goal on our Kickstarter campaign,” Magnus said. “We have hit our initial goal of $20,000. That money will help cover all the expenses for our showcase which will help Doubtful Guest break into the industry."
The 22-year-old Barnstable, Massachusetts native said reaching the goal early was a “blessing."
“It leaves us a little more time to bring in extra money … like advertising and campaigning for the band, which will only help us make our product better and ultimately get us on a real tour,” she explained.
Fans contributing to the campaign were offered a myriad of incentives to donate, including song selections, meet-and-greet passes, DVDs, T-shirts and (for a $2,000 donation) round-trip airfare, a two-night hotel stay, VIP pass, dinner with the band and rehearsal access.
Doubtful Guest will appear on FOX Television Nashville Wednesday morning, March 27.
