Jennifer Lawrence: My Family Won’t “Let Me Turn Into an A**hole”

(Fabulous)

Jennifer Lawrence credits her family for her down-to-earth persona in a new interview with Fabulous.

The Oscar winner opens up to the UK magazine, revealing that her upbringing has inspired her approach to celebrity and fame.

“I just constantly feel so lucky, that I don’t really have time to feel cocky,” says Lawrence, noting, “I was raised to have value for money, to have respect for money, even though you have a lot of it.”

And while the Silver Linings Playbook star does indeed “have a lot of it” these days, that doesn’t mean she’s a big spender, admitting that she just can’t justify spending $6 for a mini-bar Snickers.

“I still drive my same car I’ve been driving for a long time and I haven’t bought a house yet,” Lawrence admits.

She adds, “My family is not the kind of family that would ever let me turn into an a**hole or anything like that, so I am fortunate to have them.”

The same goes for Lawrence’s non-celeb pals, who says she’s “more comfortable with” than those who might might be befriending her for the wrong reasons.

“There is kind of a sadness that happens when you look into someone’s eyes and you realize that they’re looking at you a certain way, like you are not really you,” she tells the mag.

“I don’t ever walk around feeling famous. I walk around feeling the exact same way I have walked around my entire life,” says Lawrence, ”but it’s not until I talk to somebody and see in their eyes that I’m different. It makes me feel weird.”
