Indicted Reuters Editor Was Infamous LiveJournal Troll

Almost a decade ago, Matthew Keys, who was indicted by the Department of Justice for allegedly aiding Anonymous, went by the username Madrigalskylark and was one of the most infamous LiveJournal users on the social network.

The Department of Justice charged Keys on Thursday with conspiring to to attack a Tribune Company website with the hacktivist group Anonymous.

In 2004, however, Keys gained notoriety of a different sort under the LiveJournal handle Madrigalskylark.

Madrigalskylark's infamy was large enough on the relatively small LiveJournal community that he earned himself an Encyclopedia Dramatica page.

For those unfamiliar, Encyclopedia Dramatica is a satirical wiki that gained prominence in the mid-2000s for its incredibly offensive but insanely detailed archiving of message-board feuds, largely centered around the 4chan network. The Encyclopedia Dramatica community is fond of describing itself as Wikipedia's evil twin.

Encyclopedia Dramatica's profile describes "his attention whore antics, leaving phony suicide notes, passive-aggressive bitchiness, and use of the victim role to earn sympathy from naive, unsuspecting morons."
