CBS has cast its tough politico.
In Treatment's Hope Davis has booked the female lead in the network's political thriller The Ordained, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Ordained centers on Tom (Boardwalk Empire's Charlie Cox), the son of a Kennedy-esque family who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer to prevent his politician sister from being assassinated.
Davis will portray Tom's older sister Patricia, dubbed Packy because she packs a punch. She's a first-term mayor of New York City who has just announced a bid for re-election who fights hard for what she believes in. She's a married mother of two young daughters.

Journalist/author Lisa Takeuchi Cullen will pen the script for CBS Television Studios and will executive produce alongside Frank Marshall, Larry Shuman and A.B. Fischer. RJ Cutler will helm the pilot, with Robert Zotnowski on board as a co-EP. Private Practice's Audra McDonald, Lost's Jorge Garcia, Sam Neill, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Nestor Serrano co-star.
In addition to In Treatment, the actress -- who had been fielding multiple pilot offers this season -- most recently has appeared in The Newsroom, Mildred Pierce and The Special Relationship, where she portrayed Hillary Clinton. She's repped by UTA and Kipperman Management. She next reunites with former In Treatment writer Warren Leight on an episode of NBC's Law & Order: SVU.
