Comedy Central is going to Broad City.
The cable network on Wednesday ordered the Amy Poehler-produced TV adaptation of the web series starring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer to series.

Broad City revolves around two friends (played by Jacobson and Glazer) as they navigate their way through life in New York City. The 10-episode scripted comedy, which will premiere in 2014, started as a sketch idea at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York before morphing into a web hit that counts UCB alum/Parks and Recreation's Poehler as a fan.
"Finally, there’s a television show set in New York City," Comedy Central original programming president Kent Alterman joked of the series, acknowledging its similarities to HBO's critical darling Girls. "I’m immensely proud that we have done it first."

Added Poehler: "I'm excited to work with Comedy Central and introduce Abbi and Ilana to America. And all the other countries. And also Mars. We've got big plans."
Poehler will executive produce the series alongside Jacobson, Glazer, 3 Arts' Dave Becky and Generate's Sam Saifer, with Tony Hernandez as a co-EP.
Broad City joins a Comedy Central roster that includes Workaholics, Key and Peele, South Park and Kroll Show, among others.
Jacobson and Glazer are repped by CAA, Generate and Cohen & Gardner.
