American Idol season 10 alum Casey Abrams is adding another entry to his resume: as The Hollywood Reporter's special Idol correspondent this year.
For his first assignment, Casey talked with eliminated season 12 finalist Devin Velez and the two connected on their common bond. Said Velez: "It was exactly a year a go to the day that I tweeted about Colton Dixon saying that he was my idol and I would love to meet him one day ... and today, we were on the same stage together."

Casey, as it turns out, had a similar experience with season nine runner-up Crystal Bowersox.
