American Idol topped Wednesday night for Fox in both adults 18-49 and total viewers, though it did hit some noteworthy lows in the process. Fast National returns give the two-hour episode 13.4 million viewers and a 4.3 rating among adults 18-49, both lows for a Wednesday outing since the series' debut season in 2002.

The Middle (1.9 adults) dropped four tenths of a point to a season low on ABC ahead of a flat episode of The Neighbors (1.7 adults). Modern Family (3.8 adults) moved up by a tenth of a point from last week's season low, while Suburgatory (2.2 adults) grew by two tenths. Nashville (1.8 adults) was up by a tenth of a point, giving the network an average 2.2 rating with 18-49-ers and 6.8 million viewers.
Survivor (2.4 adults) staged a relatively soft return to CBS, down 23 percent from its opener last April and 25 percent from the fall debut. The network also aired an encore of The Big Bang Theory before CSI (2.1 adults) hit a series low at 10 p.m. CBS averaged a 2.1 rating in the key demo and 8.5 million viewers.
NBC started the night with an even Whitney (1.2 adults) before Guys With Kids (1.0 adults) dropped two tenths of a point to a new low. Law & Order: SVU (1.6 adults) saw a tenth of a point boost, and Chicago Fire (1.9 adults) retained last week's score. The network averaged a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49.

Arrow was up a tenth of a point to a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 on the CW, tying NBC's performance during the 8 p.m. hour and actually eclipsing it in total viewers (3.26 million viewers over 3.21 million). Supernatural (1.0 adults) was even with last week, giving the network a 1.1 adults rating for the night and 2.9 million viewers.
Univision averaged a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers.
