USA Network is in the John Legend business.

Six months after inking an exclusive pod deal with Universal Cable Productions, the Grammy winner's Get Lifted Film Co. has made its first sale -- to UCP's sibling network USA.

The cable network home to Suits, Psych and White Collar has handed out a script order to The Edge, a drama about an idealistic Harvard Business School graduate named Jeff Cross who joins a progressive financial firm called Edgeton Global (aka The Edge), where he discovers the company's dark secrets while becoming entangled in a high-stakes FBI investigation.

Writing partners Justin Herber and Adam Hoff -- who made 2012's The Young and Hungry List -- will write the script and executive produce alongside Legend and his Get Lifted partners, Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius. For their part, Herber and Hoff first met at Pepperdine and have collaborated on short films, art shows and more during their stint there.

"We are very excited about our first sale through our UCP deal and look forward to many more," Legend, Jackson and Stiklorius said in a statement to THR.

The pact continues UCP's efforts to sell to its NBCUniversal siblings. More recently, USA picked up two UCP-produced pilots: Horizon, from The Walking Dead EP Gale Anne Hurd's Valhalla Entertainment; and Hypnotic's untitled Cheryl Heuton and Nicolas Falacci drama starring Bryan Greenberg that's based on Elmore Leonard's anthology When the Women Come Out to Dance.

UCP also produces Covert Affairs, Psych, Royal Pains and Suits for USA, as well as Syfy's Defiance, Warehouse 13 and Battlestar Galactia: Blood & Chrome.

Legend inked the pod deal in July, marking his first step into the TV series arena after serving as a judge on ABC's short-lived singing competition entry Duets.

Legend's Get Lifted is repped by CAA and Del Shaw Moonves; Herber and Hoff are with Kaplan Stahler, Station 3 and Ginsburg Daniels.
