‘Deception’: Who Is Mia Bowers’ Biological Father? (Exclusive Video)

There's nothing worse than finding out you've been lied to your entire life.

In the complicated world of NBC's Deception, Mia Bowers (Ella Rae Peck) runs away after she finds out her biological mother is that of her sister, murdered socialite Vivian (Bree Williamson), NYPD detective Joanna's (Meagan Good) ex-best friend.

The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive scene from Monday's episode, "Don't Be a Dummy," and it's a tense scene between Mia's brother Julian (Wes Brown), Joanna, Sophia (Katherine LaNasa) and Robert (Victor Garber). "Vivian was not her mother," Sophia says to Julian through clenched teeth. "Who's decision was that?" Joanna fires back.

This causes Robert to set some things straight and (sort of) throw Joanna under the bus, informing her that Vivian was a wreck after the two former BFFs lost touch -- so much so that Vivian, at one point, wanted to "get rid of the baby." In order to protect the Bowers name, Sophia took Vivian's baby in as her own. So who is Mia's biological father?

"He's out of the picture," Robert throws out. Joanna continues to pry for more answers, and while Sophia and Robert don't provide them, Julian starts to rattle off Vivian's old boyfriends. Is it one of them?

Deception airs 10 p.m. Mondays on NBC.
