"Rogue"
DirecTV presented original drama Rogue on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, dubbing the series as a thriller that navigates important personal issues at the same time.
Thandie Newton (Crash) stars in the 10-episode original series, which will bow on DirecTV's The Audience Network (channel 239 for subscribers), with producers noting the series is based on a simple premise.

"It's the relationship of an undercover cop with a crime boss and the complexities and the contrasts that result from that relationship," EP Nick Hamm told reporters of the series, which will see Newton's character struggle without police protection to find the culprit behind the slaying of her child. "The show is about the definition of justice, how justice works, whether it's legislative, whether it's personal; but it's also a thriller and entertaining."
Rogue, a co-production of DirecTV and international producer E1,was picked up straight to series, with producers noting episodes would be immediately available on The Audience Network's On Demand platform.
"There's a definitive end to season one," EP Matthew Parkhill said, with the first run a whodunit that will be resolved by the end of its 10-episode run. "Each season will be a new serialized thriller story line which will have its beginning, middle and end over 10 hours."
