TV Ratings: Cotton Bowl Wins Friday, ABC and CBS Originals Dip in Returns

The Cotton Bowl topped Friday night. Fast nationals give Fox's broadcast of the NCAAF showdown between Texas A&M and Oklahoma an easy win in total viewers (11.2 million) and the key demo (3.1 rating with adults 18-49).

ABC led non-sporting nets with new episodes from its Friday lineup, though all were down from their last originals. Last Man Standing (1.4 adults) was down a tenth of a point, while Malibu Country (1.2 adults) was down by three tenths. Shark Tank (1.8 adults) dropped a tenth of a point from its last Friday outing, and 20/20 (1.4 adults) was down by two tenths. The network averaged a 1.5 adults rating and 5.8 million viewers.

CBS was a close third in the demo with a 1.4 adults rating and second in total viewers with 8.9 million. All of its original broadcasts -- Undercover Boss (1.5 adults), CSI: NY (1.4 adults), Blue Bloods (1.3 adults) -- were down by a tenth of a point from their last originals.

A two-hour Dateline (1.5 adults) followed encores on NBC. The network averaged a 1.2 rating in the key demo and 4.5 million viewers.

On the CW, encores of Nikita and Arrow averaged a 0.3 adults rating and 1.03 million viewers.
