"The Wedding Band"

Prep the sad song: TBS has canceled The Wedding Band.

Brian Austin Green and Harold Perrineau starred in the musical comedy about four likable guys who spend their free time performing in a wedding band. It was ordered to series May 2011, finally arriving on the cable network's schedule in November in the less-than-ideal 10 p.m. Saturday slot.

Despite a roster of notable guest stars including Green's wife Megan Fox, Wedding Band failed to register -- attracting 1.85 million total viewers and 1.1 million in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, with a mere 613,000 in 18-34.

The 10-episode series ended its run Saturday, averaging 1.2 million total viewers heading into what marked its series finale.

Wedding Band came as TBS continued to ramp up its original scripted comedy offerings behind off-net repeats of The Big Bang Theory, the No. 1 show in syndication. The network still has originals Sullivan and Son, Men at Work and Cougar Town -- which it picked up from ABC last year -- among other scripted fare.

Wedding Band hailed from FremantleMedia North America and Mike Tollin Productions.
