Disney Channel has set the premiere date for The Wizards of Waverly Place TV movie.

The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex, marking Selena Gomez's return to the popular franchise as young wizard Alex, will air at 8 p.m. Friday, March 15. Gomez's Wizards co-stars Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise and Gregg Sulkin also reprise their roles, along with Awkward's Beau Mirchoff.

In The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex, the Russos go to Tuscany to meet their long-lost relatives, but Alex inadvertently conjures a spell that creates a "good" Alex and an "evil" Alex. When evil Alex gets roped into a young wizard's plan to take over the world, good Alex must find a way to save her family and humankind, which leads to a battle between good Alex and evil Alex atop the Tower of Pisa.

Disney Channel also is rolling out a multiplatform initiative. A preview of the TV movie will be available on Disney Channel's VOD service March 8. Less than a week after The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex makes its debut on TV, it will hit iTunes.

The TV movie is written by Vince Cheung, Ben Montanio and Dan Berendsen. Gomez, Cheung, Dan Cross and David Hoge are executive producers. Victor Gonzalez will direct. Wizards of Waverly Place was created by Todd J. Greenwald.

Gomez's Spring Breakers feature, co-starring James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson, will hit theaters March 22.
