The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation really likes Ryan Murphy.
All three of Murphy's shows -- Fox's Glee, FX's American Horror Story and NBC's freshman The New Normal -- picked up nominations in the watchdog group's 24th annual GLAAD Media Awards.
Both Glee and The New Normal -- which revolves around a gay couple (Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha) -- were nominated for outstanding comedy series alongside NBC's rookie comedy Go On (which features a lesbian character) and ABC's perennial nominees Happy Endings and Modern Family, which won in the category last year.

Anthology American Horror Story, starring Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange, was nominated in the outstanding TV movie or miniseries, where it will face Chloe Sevigny's DirecTV transgender drama Hit and Miss and USA Network's Greg Berlanti drama Political Animals.
This year's drama series category features last year's winner, ABC's Grey's Anatomy, HBO's True Blood, Teen Nick's Degrassi and newcomers The L.A. Complex (the CW) and Smash (NBC).

In the reality field, nominees include TLC's water-cooler docuseries Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, The Amazing Race, Showtime's The Real L Word, AMC's Small Town Security and Bravo's Pregnant in Heels.
On the film side, outstanding feature (wide release) nominees include Fox Searchlight's The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Warner Bros.' Cloud Atlas, Focus Features' ParaNorman, Summit Entertainment's The Perks of Being a Wallflower and IFC Films' Your Sister's Sister. The limited release nominees are Any Day Now (Music Box Films), Keep the Lights On (Music Box), Mosquita y Mari (Wolfe Releasing), Musical Chairs (Paladin) and North Sea Texas (Strand Releasing).
In the music category, outstanding artist nominees include Gossip, Adam Lambert, Frank Ocean, Scissor Sisters and Rufus Wainwright.

"Images and stories from the LGBT community continue to push support for equality to historic levels," GLAAD president Herndon Graddick said in a statement announcing the nominees. "This year's nominees enlighten and entertain, but also reflect a new American landscape where a growing majority accept and value their LGBT family, colleagues and friends. Now more than ever, viewers not only accept gay and transgender characters and plot lines, they expect them -- just as they both accept and expect LGBT people to be a valuable part of their everyday lives."
The GLAAD Media Awards fund the organization's efforts to bring stories of LGBT people and issues to Americans. Each year, the events raise nearly $3.5 million for the group.
Other categories announced early Wednesday include outstanding individual episode, documentary, daily drama, talk show episode, theater and a batch of journalism fields. A complete list follows.
