MTV announced on Tuesday an all-new docu-series following music superstar Ke$ha as she faces the ever-present drama surrounding her personal and professional life.

Known for catchy song lyrics, riotous behavior and her longstanding love affair with glitter and body paint, the artist will take fans along for her ride from obscurity to stardom in Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life.

“You might have heard my voice on the radio, seen me onstage or in a music video, but that’s only a part of the story,” said Ke$ha. “With this documentary series I’m revealing a more complete picture of what my life is really like.  It’s not all glamorous but it’s all real.  I want you to come on a whirlwind journey with an all-access pass to My Crazy Beautiful Life.”

The show is set to be a family affair, with the singer's brother, filmmaker Lagan Sebert, directing the series. “I was working as a journalist as my sister was fighting her way to the top of the charts,” said Sebert. “Journalists live and die by the story and I soon realized that the most amazing story was happening in my own family and it became my mission document it."

Shot over a two-year period with the help of filmmaker Steven Greenstreet, the series captures Ke$ha's emotional and physical changes that transpired as she has grown increasingly famous. A small camera crew followed the pop star as she came to terms with her newfound stardom and attempted to find love and entertain normal relationships amid the stress of recording a new album.

Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life is set to premiere on MTV this April. Immediately following the announcement, Ke$ha appeared on MTV's new late-night talker, Nikki & Sara LIVE, to discuss the project.

Executive produced by Dr. Luke (Lukasz Gottwald), the project was initially developed by Ke$ha and Lagan. The siblings partnered with veteran MTV producers Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley on the series, as well as Jack Rovner and Ken Levitan.
