Spike TV is getting into the magic business.

The network is teaming with Criss Angel for an 11-episode series featuring new illusions and what it dubs are "apparent supernatural abilities."

Over the hourlong episodes, Angel will attempt new "demonstrations" never attempted by any mystifier in history. What's more, he'll also for the first time reveal the creative process behind the magic, letting the audience in to the "think tank" where his team prepares for some of his trademark illusions.

Each themed episode will focus on "mind-blowing magic, the supernatural, death-defying escapes and astonishing physical stunts that will challenge the very laws of nature" and feature a glimpse into Angel's life, and the characters and celebrity guests who surround him.

"Spike is thrilled to be able to showcase the amazing talents of Criss Angel, a perfect fit for our evolving adult brand. Criss has grown immeasurably as an artist and we are excited to give our viewers never-before-granted access into the inner-workings of his secret world and his mind,” Spike TV exec vp original series Sharon Levy said in a statement announcing the news Tuesday.

The series comes after his A&E series Criss Angel: Mindfreak ran for nearly 100 episodes over five years.

Like Mindfreak, Angel will executive produce, direct the untitled Spike series for APWI, David Baram and Erich Recker for LBI Entertainment. The series, which was brokered CAA, will premiere in the fall.
