In terms of breathless news cycles, last week's Brent Musburger-Katherine Webb debacle has more or less disappeared along with Webb's 15 minutes.
But leave it to TMZ to hunt down Musburger in a Palm Beach, Fla., airport for his side of the story. In a video, the 73-year-old ESPN announcer is shown responding to a question about whether he thinks his controversial comments on Webb's physical appearance were inappropriate.
"No," he flatly responded.
On Jan. 7, the Twitter-verse exploded when Musburger singled out Webb, 23, who's the current Miss Alabama as well as University of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron's girlfriend, in the stands at the BCS Champion Game between the Crimson Tide and Notre Dame's Fighting Irish.

"Well, I tell you, you quarterbacks, you get all the good-looking women! What a beautiful woman!," marveled Musburger as ESPN's cameras panned toward Webb. "So if you're a youngster at Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pops."
Backlash to his remarks prompted ESPN to issue an apology, saying: "We always try to capture interesting storylines and the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama and the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far and Brent understands that."
For her part, Webb said she thought the media had been "unfair" to Musburger.
"I haven't spoken to her ... I'd like to someday," he told TMZ, adding: "I'll smile and I hope she's still smiling and I wish her nothing but the best."
As for ESPN's mea culpa?
"You know, individuals say what individuals say and corporations do what corporations do. ... Obviously they felt it was the right thing for them to do."
