Jesse McCartney is enlisting in Lifetime's Army Wives.
The actor-musician has booked a recurring role on the upcoming seventh season of the Lifetime drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
McCartney, best known for his TV roles on Greek, Summerland and All My Children (for which he was nominated for two daytime Emmy Awards) will play Private Tim Truman, a young, eager and enthusiastic soldier determined to prove himself on his first deployment. The Grammy nominee behind "Beautiful Soul" will play the husband to high school sweetheart/new series regular Elle McLemore's farm girl Holly Truman.

With his 11-episode recurring gig, he becomes the latest member of the Army Wives cast ahead of its seventh season reboot. Lifetime in November added three new series regulars in Broadway alum McLemore, Ashanti and Torrey DeVitto (The Vampire Diaries).
Army Wives, which was renewed in September, will return with a major shake-up for its seventh season with star Kim Delaney exiting the drama and co-star Sally Pressman recurring as the series will confront the aftermath of the deadly plane crash featured in its sixth-season finale.
McCartney, whose credits also include voice roles in the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, Horton Hears a Who and Cartoon Network's Young Justice, is repped by Paradigm, Ginger McCartney Management, Sherry Kondor at Good Noize Management and CESD. He begins production next week in Charleston, S.C.
A season seven premiere date has yet to be announced.
