Fox has officially passed on Greg Berlanti's pilot Guilty, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The one-hour drama project, initially developed for series consideration for the 2012-13 season before being mulled for a possible fall 2013 addition, centered on a smart, ethically questionable defense attorney who used his unique methods to solve cases he's been banned from handling after being stripped of his law license.
Cuba Gooding Jr., Jay Harrington, Eva Amurri Martino and Julian Morris starred in the project from Warner Bros. TV, Bonanza Productions, Berlanti Productions and Wonderland Sound and Vision. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim penned the project, with Berlanti, Peter Johnson and McG, who directed the pilot, also serving as EPs.
This go-around, Berlanti already has several projects in the works, including a team-up with The Vampire Diaries' Julie Plec for an adaptation of U.K,'s Tomorrow People at The CW and a modern-day Wuthering Heights adaptation at NBC. His superhero drama Arrow is in the middle of a full-season run at The CW and his midseason cop drama Golden Boy will launch in late February on CBS.
