One thing is now certain: Chris Pratt and David Letterman have met at least once.

The long-time host of the Late Show has seen generations of Hollywood stars come and go, so it would be understandable if he was not up to speed on every single one of his show's guests at this point in his career. After all, they have to impress him. So when the Parks and Recreation and Zero Dark Thirty star showed up for the first time at the Ed Sullivan theater, Letterman waited until they were live on air to get to know him.

"Tell us about yourself, where you're from, and how did you get into show business?" he asked Pratt. With some surprise, the actor noted that he was from the Pacific Northwest -- Washington State -- and never really expected to be an actor when he grew up.

The next portion of the interview included a discussion of Pratt's time in Hawaii working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory, and then on to his child.

"What do you think of the guy so far?" Letterman asked, which led to an earnest expression of joy and gratitude from the actor, who said that despite being born nine weeks premature, his and wife Anna Faris' son Jack is happy and healthy.
