The hospital receptionist who answered a prank phone call from Australian radio hosts pretending to be the Queen of England and Prince Charles inquiring about Kate Middleton’s condition has reportedly committed suicide.

The unidentified woman was found unconscious and later pronounced dead in London on Friday morning, just a few days after she mistakenly put a nurse on the phone with the 2Day FM disc jockeys who committed the hoax.

Although the specific cause of death has not been confirmed, the Daily Mail is reporting that it appears the staffer killed herself.

She leaves behind a husband and two children.

In a statement, a spokesman for Scotland Yard said, “Police were called at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Friday, December 7, to a report of a woman found unconscious an address in Weymouth Street, W1.”

“London Ambulance Service attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage,” said the spokesperson.

Following the hospital mix-up on Tuesday, a King Edward VII’s Hospital rep said the staff “deeply regrets this incident,” and radio station apologized “for any inconvenience caused by the inquiry.”
