“Haunted by scandalous stories of husband Joe’s dalliances with much younger men, Tina Simpson is drowning her sorrows with booze, causing Jessica to fear her mom is going to spin completely out,” claims RadarOnline.
Picking up a story from its sister publication Star, the webloid reports that the “Simpson matriarch is now constantly watching her back in case yet more scandalous stories emerge about her ex’s liaisons.”
Of course, no verified “scandalous stories” have actually emerged, but RadarOnline nevertheless says that Tina’s already so anxiety-stricken, she’s “turned to hard liquor, and insiders report that her self-medicating with booze has her daughters so concerned that they are now urging her to seek treatment.”
“Tina is hitting the bottle to ease her sorrows over her marital problems, she’s built up quite a tolerance and has switched from wine to stuff like scotch and vodka,” alleges one of those so-called insiders,

The supposed source goes on to claim that “Jess is just a mess over this, she feels helpless and doesn’t know what to do.”
As evidence of Jessica’s supposed worries over her mother, Star – which just last week wrongly claimed that Tina was writing a tell-all memoir – cites a “recent” tweet from the singer that read, “Saturday night drink of choice…. WATER! :)”
“What she didn’t say but was surely thinking,” says the magazine, is that “she hopes her mom can start making better choices too — and soon.”
Uh, hardly.
Conveniently left out is the fact that the Jessica’s tweet was sent back in AUGUST – well before her parents’ late September split — and that the message in its entirety (screengrabbed below) shows that she was referring to her life as a new mother — not Tina’s supposed drinking habit.
Oops.
While there’s no doubt that divorce is a trying time for any family, regardless of the circumstances, is Tina really “using alcohol to cover the raw wounds from the demise of her marriage,” as RadarOnline and Star allege?
Absolutely not!
A source close to the Simpson family assures Gossip Cop that the boozy tale is “not true.”
