Children’s Choir Performs “Silent Night” on Saturday Night Live for Victims of School Shooting

Saturday Night Live opened the Dec. 15 show on a serious note.

To pay tribute to the victims of Friday's elementary school shooting in Connecticut, the New York City Children's Chorus sang "Silent Night."

The touching performance came one day after Adam Lanza, 20, shot down 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School Dec. 14 in Newtown, Conn.

After the song, the young singers took over host Martin Short's job of introducing the show by shouting, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"
