AMC is looking to give its upcoming Thursday night unscripted block a push from the dead.

The cable network will air early episodes of ratings juggernaut The Walking Dead in black and white starting Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m. with the first two episodes of the zombie drama.

The 90-minute premiere and hourlong subsequent episode will lead into the second season premiere of Kevin Smith's docuseries Comic Book Men at 9 p.m., the debut of Venice Beach Boardwalk entry Freakshow at 9:30 p.m., followed at 10 p.m. by Taxidermy competition series Immortalized.

AMC announced Thursday night block in November as it continues to invest in unscripted fare to bolster its award-winning original programming including Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

The Walking Dead has proven a breakout hit for the network, averaging more than 10 million viewers thus far through its third season, which returns Sunday, Feb. 10 at 9 p.m.

While the Walking Dead's series premiere has been broadcast in black and white before, subsequent episodes will run for the first time in the format -- which mirrors the design of Robert Kirkman's Image Comics series on which the drama is based.
