VIDEO“The Voice” isn’t the only show that featured a stellar Adele cover this week.
On Wednesday’s “X Factor,” Carly Rose Sonenclar took on the Grammy-winning song “Rolling the Deep” — and killed it.
“I’m going to tell you something you already know: You are insanely talented,” L.A. Reid told her.
And while he thought that this wasn’t Sonenclar’s very best performance, he pointed out that “even your second is better than everyone else’s first best.”
Demi Lovato admitted, “I’m not even your mentor and I feel proud of you… I got nothing. You’re so good!”
Simon Cowell was particularly wowed by the second half, calling it “sensational.”
“I believe, outside of this show, that you as a 13-year-old can sell records,” Cowell continued, before going on to joke, “The only problem we have, that we’ve established, is that you’re not human. And you may have to be disqualified from this competition.”
Sonenclar’s mentor, Britney Spears, said they knew it would be a “challenge” to cover an artist like Adele, but explained, “we really wanted to take a risk to bring you to the next level of the competition and I think that’s what we did.”
