‘The Big C’ Adds Brian Dennehy for Final Season

Prepare to meet Cathy's father on Showtime's The Big C.

Emmy nominee and Tony winner Brian Dennehy has been tapped to guest star in the final season of the Laura Linney dramedy, Showtime announced Tuesday.

STORY: Showtime Renews 'The Big C' for Fourth, Final Season of Four Hourlong Episodes

Dennehy will appear in one of the four final hourlong episodes of the series, playing the father to Linney's Cathy.

He joins a guest cast for The Big C: Hereafter that so far includes Kathy Najimy and Isaac Mizrahi, who will play Cathy's therapist and a fashion mentor to Gabourey Sidibe's Andrea, respectively.

Dennehy earned Tony wins for Long Day's Journey Into Night and Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, picking up an Emmy nom for Showtime's presentation of the latter. His credits also include The Good Wife and Our Fathers. He's repped by Susan Smith and Katz Golden.

The final season of The Big C will air in the spring on Showtime.
