NBC is marching toward adulthood.
The network is developing a comedy based on former magazine editor-turned-writer Sally Koslow's latest novel, Slouching Toward Adulthood, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The single-camera comedy, which hails from 20th Television and 3 Arts, is described as a messy blended family show where adult children are still living at home. Life Happens writer Kat Coiro will pen the script and executive produce alongside 3 Arts' Oly Obst, David Miner (30 Rock, Parks and Recreation) and Christy Fletcher (The Rite).
For her part, Koslow is a former editor in chief of McCall's Magazine, which later was relaunched as Rosie with Rosie O'Donnell at the helm. She has now published three novels, including Little Pink Slips and The Late, Lamented Molly Marx.
Slouching Toward Adulthood: Observations From the Not-So-Empty Nest was published in June.
The project comes as ABC is preparing to launch comedy How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life), a semi-autobiographical comedy from showrunner Claudia Lonow about a recently divorced single mom (Sarah Chalke) who moves in with her parents (Brad Garrett, Elizabeth Perkins).
