TNT's David E. Kelley medical drama Monday Mornings is getting a comedic injection.

Comedian Kevin Shinick, the head writer/producer/voice actor behind Cartoon Network's Mad, has booked an arc on the upcoming drama series as Levi Hostetler, a religious man whose wife Ruth is brought to the hospital due to constant arm tremors.

The medical series, based on the book by practicing neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, follows the lives of five surgeons as they push the limits of their abilities and confront their personal and professional failings. Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Alfred Molina (Frida) and Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) star in the series, which premieres Feb. 4 at 10 p.m. on TNT. He'll first appear in the pilot.

The writer, who won an Emmy for his work on Adult Swim's Robot Chicken and picked up a nomination for animated shortform program for his work on Mad, most recently guest starred on NBC's Grimm.

In addition, the comedian and comic scribe whose credits include Marvel's Avenging Spider-Man #12 and 13, will reprise his one-man show Mother Mayhem at the ACME Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles on Dec. 4.
