CBS Corp. and Hulu on Monday unveiled a non-exclusive, multi-year content licensing deal that allows the Hulu Plus subscription service to stream programs from the CBS TV library.
CBS has so far held out from striking licensing arrangements with Hulu, and the move will see more than 2,600 shows from the network library. Series mentioned at the time of the announcement included Medium, Numb3rs, CSI: Miami, Star Trek, I Love Lucy and The Twilight Zone.
“We’re excited to deliver CBS library programming to Hulu Plus subscribers,” said CBS SVP of corporate licensing Scott Koondel. "This marks another agreement that meets the growing demand for our content on new platforms while establishing other incremental ways to get paid for our library.”
Series will be available on Hulu Plus starting in January 2013, marking the first time CBS series have streamed anywhere but the network's website.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
